Back after an eight-year hiatus, the Pop Culture March Madness Bracket is returning — for one time only.
And this time, anyone can participate.
There is no cost, no prizes, and no pressure. It’s simply a fun way to join in something a little nerdy during the spring season.
This year’s bracket will determine one thing:
Your favorite music album.
How It Works
Over the next three weeks, I’ll release a series of polls where two albums face off in a head-to-head matchup. Your job is simple:
Vote for the one that should advance.
The album with the most votes moves on to the next round.
That’s it.
The tournament field contains 64 albums, selected with the help of my friend ChatGPT using rankings and lists from sources like Rolling Stone, Billboard, and other expert rankings.
To keep things balanced, a few ground rules were used:
Albums must have been released after 1954
Greatest hits collections were excluded
No more than four albums per artist or group
If you think a favorite album was left out, the seeding looks wrong, or a genre didn’t get enough love — all I can say is:
Back it up with your votes.
And remember — this is all in good fun.
Where to See the Bracket
The full tournament bracket is being tracked live on Google Sheets and can be viewed here:

Want Email Reminders?
If you’d like reminders when polls go live, you can leave your email address when voting.
Or simply let me know you’re “in” for the emails.
I’ll only send reminders for this event — nothing else.
You’re welcome to participate in as many or as few rounds as you like.
Sharing Is Welcome
If you think this is fun, feel free to share the links with friends.
Anyone can participate.
The only request is one vote per person per matchup.
How Ties Will Be Handled
This is the hardest rule for me.
I will not vote in any matchup unless there is a tie.
If a tie occurs, I will step in as the tiebreaker vote, and that matchup will be marked as “Won in Overtime.”
That means if you see a result decided in overtime, you’ll know the final vote came from me.
I’d love to vote in every matchup — but this keeps the process fair.
So grab your opinions, your loyalties, and maybe a few friends — and let the madness begin.
